This piece is a reflection of the forces that shape my life. The blue figure represents fate—she has the power to both give and take, like pulling or planting flowers from a meadow. In the upper left, I’ve painted my family from the Philippines, grounding me in heritage, flowing down into myself at the centre. Surrounding me are friends who form my chosen family here, and below, the Sydney house dance community—captured mid-jam, alive with rhythm and connection. The work is a slice of life: a celebration of community, movement, and the unseen forces that guide who stays and who leaves.
